We’ve designed a seamless, fully digital booking journey so you can focus on the excitement, not the admin.

Receive and sign your rental contract. R15,000 refundable deposit per vehicle (self-drive only, payable on arrival).

Cobra Experience was founded in early 2017 by David Ash with a dream to let the public and tourists alike experience the exhilarating feeling of driving a reimagined 60’s supercar on the breath-taking roads the Cape has to offer.
David has shaped Cobra Experience to be a well-established business rooted in the tourism industry. Now with a full-time staff of three they included a full time mechanic with over 10 years’ experience in the Cobra industry.
Joseph provides critical technical support to ensure the cars are always in tip-top condition.

Where is Cobra Experience?
Based in Gardens, central CPT we are centrally located with plenty of things to do in the area before or after the experience. We are walking distance from most major hotels and a short drive from the V&A waterfront.
I have rented the car but have nowhere to go?
Have the car but have no idea where to go? We guide you further than just the bends of Chapman’s peak drive. While your guests quickly do their paperwork we plan a unique itinerary that guides them through the perfect day. We drive the cape peninsula ourselves as often as possible, this allows us to provide the best knowledge on routes, places to go and things to see.
Is Safety a concern?
Our cars are Factory built, this is important as the global Cobra industry from time to time has seen vehicles being used that are either kit cars, poorly constructed, poorly maintained or are outdated by up to 15 or 20 years. This statistically increases the chance of an incident. All of our vehicles comply with all regulations set out by the South African Department of Transport.
Safety along with a memorable experience are the two most important things at Cobra Experience.
Our quickly expanding fleet of 5 Backdraft Racing Cobras are upheld and maintained to the highest level. With 2 000+ rentals completed over the past two years, and we continue to make happy memories. All of our Cobras are newly built with big V8 Engines, power steering, auto-gearboxes, as well as modern brakes and suspension.
How many people can you accommodate?
Currently we can take up to 10 pax in Backdraft Cobra’s at a time but have a few other great classics we can offer in conjunction to accommodate larger groups. (Up to 20 pax can be arranged)
What if it rains?
We have a flexible wet weather policy. The drive will take place in all safe weather conditions permitting. If you wake up and find it is raining we will allow rescheduling of the experience or issue you with a voucher valid for 3 years to take up the experience at a convenient time.
What do I need to bring with?
Bring along your driver’s license, credit card and cash for refuelling the car.
All our cars have pre-installed Go-Pro mounts and we provide Go-Pro and SD card rental packages allowing you to capture the day on film to take home and remember for years to come. Along with this we offer refreshments as well as t-shirts and caps to purchase as well as blankets to keep the chills away in winter.
At Cobra Experience we are open to big ideas and with no red tape in place we are flexible to ideas of any new tours, trips, experiences and just about anything you can think of involving a Cobra.
We also offer services for weddings, film, and photoshoots, the movie industry as well as birthdays and gift vouchers.
